Out of twelve tribes six cities of refuge were established. I personally find it interesting that Ephraim and Manasseh each had one of those cities, so two refuge cities among the descendants of Joseph and that Judah also contained a refuge city. I also find it interesting that the refuge cities of Judah and both of Joseph’s tribes are cities that I have heard of – Hebron, Shechem, and Golan.
