I wonder why John wrote in the third person – nevermind, I realize that the apostle John was referring to John the Baptist.
If John was baptizing beyond Jordan he must have been in the land that had been given to Reuben, Dan, and half of Manasseh. I believe that John the Revelator was one of the two followers of the Baptist who went and followed Christ after the Baptist identified Him. I notice two patterns in this account. First, the invitation by Christ and those who follow and witness of Him is simply, “come and see.” Second, the first thing in the testimony of the Revelator is of Christ gathering His apostles. I also note that many of them were already familiar with each other prior to finding the Christ.
