John 21
It seems interesting to me that many times it seems that John was more spiritually perceptive than Peter while Peter was quick to leap in over his head and act as soon as he had some information and yet it was Peter who was chosen to lead the church. I think part of the reason the Savior asked three times if Peter loved Him was emphasize the preeminence of the command that Peter should feed His sheep so that Peter would settle down and be absolutely dependable in doing His work over years where the Savior was not physically by his side as He had been for years.
