Ruth 2 – 3
Naomi knew the customs and helped Ruth to do what would appropriately invite Boaz to marry Ruth. He had shown kindness to Her as soon as he saw her and he valued the way she had cared for Naomi but it may be that Naomi would have been just as happy had a nearer kinsman chosen to redeem Ruth as his wife rather than Boaz.
