1 Samuel 3
It is interesting how the Lord can and will, when necessary, use someone who has lost his place (or will be) through unrighteousness. In Eli’s case his unrighteousness was his unwillingness to curb his sons in their wicked behavior or remove them from their places.

Eli had already been warned that his house would be cut off if he did not curb his sons so he accepted the message that Samuel received. He may even have been happy to know that the Lord would not leave His people without direction.
