1 Samuel 30 – 31
I never knew that David’s men considered stoning him after the Amalekites burned his town and took the women and children captive in his absence. Why was it important that David insisted that the men share the spoil with the 200 who were not in the battle? Is I just a general principle about being generous or was it related to the fact that the 200 were willing to go had they been able to continue.

Interesting that Saul wanted his armorbeared to kill him so that the philistines would not abuse his body. What is interesting is that they did so anyway even though he was dead before they got to him. They cut off his head and paraded it about then they fastened his body to a wall for a display as well as the bodies of his sons – at least until men of Gilead came and retrieved the bodies and cremated them so that the desecrations could not be seen.
