2 Kings 3 – 4
Once again I am left to wonder how anyone could bring themselves to serve a god who would demand or even accept the sacrifice of their own children. At least in the case of Abraham he had the conundrum of knowing perfectly that it was the Lord asking him to sacrifice his son and also knowing perfectly that such a request was contrary to the nature of his God. It was a trial in which he had to exercise his faith that somehow the Lord would work out the contradiction between those facts – which He did.

I had never realized that tho woman’s son who Elisha brought back to life was only born in the first place because Elisha promised her a son for all that she had done to serve him.
