I wound why Elisha chose to delegate the task of announcing Jehu as king. It’s interesting that Jehu commanded that Jezebel be buried after the prophecy that the dogs should eat her and she would not be buried. When the men went to get her the dogs had eaten all but her skull, hands, and feet. That is when Jehu recounted the prophecy.
