President Eyring and ten (if my count was accurate) of the twelve apostles are
participating.
President Eyring
He has chosen to begin with the words President Monson ended with at the
previous WWLT last November.
Read, understand, and follow.
Elder Oaks
“In fulfilling its purpose to help individuals and families qualify for exaltation, the Church focuses on divinely appointed responsibilities. These include helping members live the gospel of Jesus Christ, gathering Israel through missionary work, caring for the poor and needy, and enabling the salvation of the dead by building temples and performing vicarious ordinances.”

“We hope that common sense and the spirit will prevail.”
This talk outlines the entire handbook. I would like to have a copy of this.
Elders Holland, Bednar, & Christofferson
Elder Holland, while reiterating the the new handbooks are a treasure, reminds us that the scriptures are the ultimate handbook.
“We never inquire of the Lord for revelation unless there is no prior revelation that we can apply to the case.” Joseph Smith
Elder Bednar and Elder Christofferson remind us that the first three chapters are preeminent and that they provide the context to understand the rest of the handbook.
Elder Holland explicitly says “we will not tell you which lines have been changed from the previous handbook – immerse yourself in this handbook.”
How is my performance as a father reflecting upon the priesthood that I hold?
Elder Bednar – “A priesthood leader should ask themselves ‘what is the next ordinance in the progress of this individual?’”
Elder Bednar – “If we are managing an organization we will do it by dividing things up. If we are ministering to people all things come together as one in Christ rather than being divided up.”
Each member of the council is concerned with everyone in the ward and should be using their organization to benefit anyone that they can benefit.
A question that each member could/should consider (and that we as priesthood leaders should ask of quorum members) is “what is the next step toward salvation in my life and what help is necessary to take that step?”
Elder Porter (actually given by Elder Zwick)
I wonder what happened there.
Elders Hales, Anderson, & Christensen along with Sister Beck, Sister Dalton, Sister Wixam, Brother Osguthorpe, and Brother Beck
Sister Beck “The Lord loves beginners.”
Elder Scott
Recommends that bishops call on sisters by name to invite their participation in council meetings when they have a tendency to stay silent. The same is true for any council member.
Elder Hales
Elder Nelson
We follow the teachings of Christ in all we do.
Our objective is to increase people’s faith in Christ.
We follow the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ in all we do. Our objective is to increase individual faith in God, in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in His gospel as restored in these latter days.
We hope for simplification to better use the resources of time and energy from church members and leaders.
“A religion that does not require the sacrifice of all never had power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation.” what do we require of our quorum members? (Not nearly enough I suspect.)
