3 Nephi 24 – 25
I have heard it said that the Sons of Levi would need to offer one final burnt offering in righteousness in Jerusalem but I believe that is a misinterpretation of this scripture. Christ said that the Law of Moses was done away and that there should be no more the offering of blood sacrifice. There shall be an offering of the Sons of Levi in righteousness which the Lord shall accept, at the least it shall be the offering of a broken heart and a contrite spirit by sons of Levi who have been refined as silver. If it is more than that it shall be something other than an offering of animal sacrifice. When Malachi said it it may have meant some righteous sacrificial offering before the Atonement of Christ but when Christ tells it to the Nephites after His resurrection it must refer to some other kind of offering because the Law of Moses has already been fulfilled and He has stated that he shall accept no more burnt offerings.
When the people say there is no point in serving God and justify it by saying how those who do not serve God are more blessed than those who do they shall eventually be brought to see accurately who has been blessed and who has served the Lord and they shall be the same group. Some whom they thought not to be serving the Lord they shall see as having been in his service and some who they beloved were serving god they shall see were not. Some whom they called blessed they shall discover to have been cursed and some who did not appear to be receiving blessing they shall find had been greatly blessed.
