Perhaps it is my own opinion of suicide but I think Saul was a coward to ask someone to kill him and to take his own life. Perhaps in their culture there was some honor in it. If not, his armorbearer was a coward as well.
I wonder why David insisted on having Jerusalem for his capitol city. Did he take it because the Lord had commanded them to take all the land or just because he wanted it? Considering that this was still while he was so favored of the Lord I expect it was consistent with the will of the Lord.
Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba, was not just a soldier in David’s army, he was one of those thirty who were known by name for their valor. He was likely a leader of a division and when David had him killed it probably meant killing that whole division.
