1 Chronicles 20 – 21
I am beginning to see that David had many other significant sins to his credit than just his adultery with Bathsheba and murder of Uriah. (I realize also that Bathsheba’s proximity to the palace was likely due to Uriah’s prominence in the army. Even if David did not know whose wife she was he would have known she belonged to one of his choice men.) These various mistakes do not prove that David did not desire to follow the lord but they show that he was not the pure and undefiled faithful youth who had stood for the Lord against Goliath.
