Today was a big day as, for the first time in my life, I ended a professional, salaried position by my own choosing. It was interesting that I left before 2:00PM because there was nothing left for me to do. That seems fitting considering that my expectation that they would not be able to keep me busy was one main reason for me to be looking at other positions within Intermountain. I hope I have opportunities to interact with some of those coworkers in the future.
On an unrelated note, two days ago I purchased the domain that has been advertised by Ernie Cox as his campaign website as he is running for city council. I bought it after more than a week of waiting for it to appear after seeing his campaign signs with the domain on it. My purpose was to point out a very poor campaign decision.
After going to a campaign event for all the candidates last night, Ernie was one of two I do not want to vote for. I know two of the three I plan to vote for but he is not one of the two I am considering for that final vote. I emailed Ernie last night about the domain but he took 24 hours to contact me after he discovered that I owned the domain. He was worried that I might try to gouge him for the domain and relieved that I willingly turned it over to him. We both thought it fair that he should pay the $9 I paid to register it (he said he would round up to $10) but I did not ask for more than that, for which he was grateful. It is still technically owned by me because we can’t transfer it for 60 days but it is now pointing to his content from when he ran two years ago.
