Psalms 5 – 8
There is some sad irony to read David writing that the Lord hates all workers of iniquity and that He abhors bloody and deceitful men but that David himself will receive of His mercy. I don’t know if this was written before or after David had played the part of the bloody and deceitful worker of iniquity but either way it reminds me that man is changeable and his understanding of God is imperfect at best.
These psalms were written in the same spirit by which David was often able to calm the troubled soul of Saul.
