Psalms 34 – 35
I am beginning to see what the Lord meant when he said that David was a man of war and not a man of peace. On the surface I understood it to mean that he spent his days in war. While that is true I see that part of his “man of war” designation is that he is somewhat vindictive against those that fight against him even when he is relying on the Lord. While he would not kill Saul and he even killed the man who claimed to have done so, yet he wished for the Lord to ensnare Saul. During his life he favored a number of people whom he then instructed Solomon to execute after his death.
