Enos 1
Enos’ experience took place before he received the plates but when he was given the charge to record those things which would draw people to Christ he felt that he should record that seminal experience in his life which had prepared him to be able to keep that charge and had started him on the lifelong path of full discipleship.
Once Enos had secured the covenant from the Lord that the records of the Nephites would be preserved even if the Nephites were destroyed his soul did rest. That did not mean that his efforts to teach righteousness slackened, just that he no longer felt the need to petition the Lord for that. He knew the records would be preserved therefore he was comfortable with whatever came of the diligent efforts he made in the work of the Lord.
