Mosiah 21
Why were the Lamanites stirred up to anger against the people of Limhi again? I think the reason is that the people of Limhi had beaten them in battle despite being grossly outnumbered and hurt their pride. This was at least true unlike the idea that they had stolen the Lamanite daughters although it does not make a good reason to mistreat someone. It is fair to admit that the Lamanites honestly believed the people of Limhi had captured their daughters even though that premise for anger turned out the be false.
I think it is telling that the Lord helped the people to prosper by degrees after they had humbled themselves enough – long before He delivered them.
I never realized that the people of Limhi did not enter a covenant to serve God until after Ammon arrived in the land.
