Alma 28 – 29
Chapter 28 is either Alma or Mormon summarizing the feeling of looking back at the first fifteen years of the reign of the judges. Chapter 29 is how Alma feels now that things have settled down since the settlement of the people of Ammon in the land of Jershon.
When Alma says he has always remembered the captivity of his fathers he means he always has since he was born again of God. It occurs to me that during his three days of unconsciousness he was taught a lot about that captivity—not simply the physical bondage but the spiritual chains that were the real problem.
