Alma 56
It appears that Moroni spent much of the almost two years when Teancum was conducting the war independently on the eastern front in transit. Perhaps he was fortifying cities and gathering men as he moves from the southwest to the northeast. I come to that conclusion because Teancum was alone in the northeast from the first of the 26th year until late in the 27th year and Moroni was already gone from the western front before Helaman arrived to help there with his extraordinary group in the 26th year.
I wrote previously about the slowere pace of events in that time. Here is proof, the first battle recorded on either front after Amalakiah was killed by Teancum at the end of the 25th year took place more than halfway through the 27th year. Prior to that both sides on both fronts were shoring up their provisions and trying to get a good feel for the strength of their enemies.
