Proverbs 2 – 3
“Froward” is an interesting word. It reminds me visually of “forward” but it derives from the word “fro” which is a contrast to “to” (as in “toward”) in other words, “froward” indicates moving away from and in this case it is away from God and goodness/wisdom.
I find it interesting that this speaks of a wayward woman and a righteous man. I don’t think that was an accident by the author. It makes me even more concerned to live in a day where the men are so wayward as they are supposed to be the more dependable half of the population.
