Ecclesiastes 3 – 5
The theme of Ecclesiastes seems to be that nothing is substantial. In light of the words of Ecclesiastes I wonder if Solomon gave up on righteousness and began drifting spiritually. It would seem so based on the conclusion of his life.
The best counsel I have seen so far is that men should do more of listening to God than speaking to Him and that it is better not to covenant with God than to covenant and not keep that covenant.
