Isaiah 38 – 40
Had Hezekiah died here he would not have made the mistake of showing his wealth to the Babylonians. I wonder if this is the same reason that the church guards the data on its financial situation.

Was it a mistake for Hezekiah to pray for an extension to his life? In some ways it would seem to be.

Here Isaiah says to Israel that even poor people can make an idol but they have already been told the truth about God. In chapter 48 he refers back to this in saying that the Lord revealed truths to Israel early so that they would not be able to say that they learned those things from their idols.
