Jeremiah 52
This burning of the chief houses of Jerusalem almost sounds symbolic. I don’t mean to suggest that they were not literally burned but rather that the burning of them had some cultural significance. That would be similar to breaking down the walls of the city which symbolically indicated triumph and practically made the city indefensible.
