Daniel 1
Why did Daniel think there would be a visible difference within ten days? Is it possible that he expected no visible difference so that they would simply be allowed to continue on the diet that he had proposed? Perhaps Daniel expected that after ten days they would loom good enough to continue the trial, not that they would look good enough to cause everyone else to partake of the food Daniel had requested.
As a side note, I really like the Babylonian name that Daniel was given – Belshazzar – I wouldn’t mind seeing more of it like we do with the names of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (who’s Hebrew names are also petty cool).
