1 Nephi 19
When Nephi days that he snagged the record of hid father in the other plates is he saying he engraved things that had previously been recorded on something other than plates or was he making chippies of things that were already on plates elsewhere? Certainly the words of Isaiah that he wrote were copies of things engraved on the plates of brass.
