1 Nephi 20 – 22
I know why this is the first piece of Isaiah that Nephi reads to his brothers, it is because they have been contending that the Jews at Jerusalem were righteous. In all likelihood they have also used the argument at t/wimes that as part of the house of Israel they are favoured of the Lord as if that would excuse their wickedness. Here are the words of Isaiah to the Lord’s chosen people.

The message seems to be twofold: first, that Israel was not chosen because they were inherently more righteous than others and secondly, that scattered Israel was scattered by design and is not forgotten.

Nephi had written about the great white of all the earth but I am not sure if he had spoken to hid brothers about those aspects of his vision before now. I assume he had.

The great delineation between the church of God and the church of the devil is whether they seek for gain, popularity, power, and the lusts of the flesh or not. That delineation holds true in an individual level as well as an institutional level. Not only that but an organization or an individual may have one focus our aim at one time and a different one at another and may change from one church or another by changing aims.
