2 Nephi 1
As I read this I am thinking about the interesting interplay between influence and agency. I wonder whether Lehi and/or Nephi could have done anything different to help Laman and Lemuel turn out more like Nephi. Even as I think that I know that ultimately there is am inert zone where Laman and Lemuel were sovereign where they could choose, independent of other people or factors, whether they would pursue good choices or poor choices.
Every person has the ability to exercise their sovereignty in making choices but at the same time each person has the ability to make it simpler or more difficult for other people to make good choices.
