Enos, Jarom
When I read that the Lord will only curse this land based on the iniquity of the people I realized that such cursing would naturally be meted out collectively and would be based on collective iniquity. Next it became clear that the wider our dependence is the more broadly the curse will be based. In other words, a person who is righteous will feel the effects of the land being cursed more heavily the more he is dependent on others who are wicked. Of course the righteous will have more blessing to buoy him up than a wicked person but i to the degree that his income or the goods and services he depends upon come from those who are wicked he will feel more or less of the effects of any curse that is upon the land because of their wickedness.
Enos must have been one of the youngest of Jacobs children. We know that Nephi was fifteen or twenty years older than Jacob but Enos died at least 120 years later than Nephi who lived to be at least 70. If Enos was born about the time Nephi died Jacob would have been at least 50 when he was born and Enos would have to have lived until he was at least 120 years. Unless Enos lived at least 140 years he could not have been born while Jacob was even remotely young. It is quite possible that Enos never knew his uncle Nephi.
Enos seemed to understand the purpose of the record he was given but Jason seemed to think it was simply a family record rather than a spiritual record.
