It seems to be a consistent trait among these righteous leaders that they address larger and more encompassing issues than simply the immediate or obvious ones. Moroni could have expended all his thought on war but he took the time to address famine among the people as well. Helaman could have considered only the immediate danger the Nephites were facing but instead he thought beyond that to the eternal welfare of the people of Ammon.
