Obadiah 1
Why was the nation of the posterity of Esau greatly despised among the heathen? Why did their confederates deceive and betray them? Is it simply because they fought the children of Israel? It sounds as if ancient jealousies caused the people of Edom to rejoice in the misfortunes of Jerusalem.
I did some research to remember if Esau made a covenant of peace with Jacob or if he simply reconciled with him. It appears they only reconciled. In the process of searching I saw that Esau married a daughter of Ishmael – I had forgotten that. That means that some of the children of Esau are linked to Abraham through both their father and their mother.
