Without the payable of the prodigal son with its moral that the older son would receive all that the father had the parables of the lost sheep and the lost silver could imply that Father in Heaven prefers His children to get lost before they return home – that the most direct route is not preferred.
Three feeling of not being worthy to be called a soon and the willingness to be simply a servant in the household are the marks of a truly contrite heart – ready to be received by the father again.
