Whatever we may or may not suppose about may Magdalene, we cannot doubt by her constant presence whenever but few of His followers was present in these tumultuous days that she was extremely devoted to Him. She came first and found the tomb empty then ran to Jesus’ closest confidantes before returning to the tomb. She stayed after they had left and then saw the angels followed by the Lord. He said He has not yet ascended to His Father but it seems clear that He had taken up His body from the grave. Perhaps He needed to present it without any earthly contaminant Nehor He returned to His flowers where they would touch Him and He would also eat with them.
Did Thomas Mann that he would not believe our did he mean that unless he saw for himself he could not testify as the apostles were called to do? Especially those original apostles needed to bar a very personal, intimate, and firsthand witness to the world.
