Acts 9
For those waiting on the road to Damascus it’s important to consider that Paul (and Alma before him) were not traveling to Damascus on the Lord’s errand. Their experience came because they were fighting the Lord. Those who are not fighting the Lord can expect a much gentler and more reassuring means of seeking their faith on Christ. It might also be helpful to remember that Alma was comatose for three days and Paul was blind for three days after their experiences.

I had forgotten that the members of the church would have nothing to do with Paul after his conversion until after he had been accepted publicly by the apostles despite the fact that he had to sneak out of Damascus in order to avoid being killed by the Jews there for preaching of Christ.
