Acts 10
The Lord has to give Cornelius more than a given name for Peter because even directing him to the right house would bring him to two Simons.
Peter’s response that he had never eaten anything inform was thy right respond. It opened the door to reach him what the Lord wanted him to learn. The message that the Loud had sent the gentiles who were then seeking him helped Peter to understand the meaning in the vision he has just received. The vision taught Peter that he could visit with gentiles. The manifestation of them receiving the Holy Ghost showed his companions that they deserved baptism as well as any believer.
Up to this point Christianity would have appeared to be a sect within Judaism rather than an independent outgrowth of it.
