Romans 12 – 13
If Paul’s words have meant that grace is everything and works are nothing with regard to being saved why does he beseech his brethren to present themselves as living sacrifices through reasonable service?
Clearly, although the works cannot be anywhere near sufficient to purchase salvation and redemption they serve as an important marker of it decision to accept Christ. They serve as evidence of the process of salvation working itself in our lives. They also serve as a catalyst to move the process of personal sanctification forward.
This sounds similar to the counsel of king Benjamin.
