Revelation 7 – 8
Twelve thousand will be sealed from each tribe. It will be interesting to see how they are distributed throughout the earth and even throughout history. Joseph is one tribe, not two in this numeration. The 144,000 do not include the countless multitudes from all the earth that are there praising God.
I had been taught that the 144,000 were all high priests and had assumed they must be members of the church and felt that I would be among them. It occurs to me that some might be high priests in faith but not necessarily in ordination at that time so they might not be members of the church prior to the millennium. In fact they may be Jews serving righteously at the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem who then see Christ at his coming and are fully convinced of Him being the Messiah.
It appears that the cataclysmic destruction of the earth will take place after the Jews openly come to hail Christ as Savoir.
