Ecclesiastes 3
I think the message here is that we must expect our lives to pass through various situations or seasons. It’s not just that we should plan to move from one stage to another and that there are times and seasons where specific things are appropriate to our focus but that independent of our choices we can expect the Lord to move us from one stage to another as He sees fit for our development.
Contrast that with God. He may do as He sees fit and nothing shall be done save He shall be prepared for it. Like the beats we are unable to frustrated the purposes of God though it I’d given to us to be able to separate ourselves from Him and deny ourselves the benefits of His purposes.
