I guess that Abinadi interpreting the writing on the wall of The temple was something that took place before Mosiah led the righteous out of the land of Nephi and eventually to the land of Zerahemla. I would suspect that it took place sometime during the period covered by the book of Omni.
“Why will ye yield yourselves unto [Satan] that he may have power over you, to blind your eyes, that ye will not understand the words which are spoken, according to their truth!”
