Alma 46
The lessons of this chapter are more than the comparison of one very wicked man (Amalickiah) with one very righteous man (Moroni) as I have likely noted before. It also includes a lesson that when the people begin to turn to wickedness the people who adopt the wickedness of the day include those in the church, not just those who haven’t accepted the gospel. It should also serve to remind us that even as many are turning from what is right there will be many who will rally to the cause of righteousness if there is a righteous man prepared and willing to lead publicly in that direction. There too I have no doubt that it was not only members of the church of God but also good people who were not affiliated with that church who recognized the dangers of Amalickiah gaining his desire.
