For those conservative Latter-day Saints who insist on the view that Abraham Lincoln was a bad president because of his assumption of unconstitutional powers I would point them to Captain Moroni who abandoned his defense of the Nephite lands in order to fight the “pacifist” king-men. I don’t think you can be intellectually consistent in praising one case and condemning the other. Both situations can be questioned but they are too close together to come to cleanly opposing viewpoints on the two cases.
