How could Giddianhi ignore the implications of his declaration that his men were anxiously awaiting the command to go destroy the Nephites. If that were true then the Nephites could hardly hour that they could live in peace by surrendering.
Gidgiddoni was very much a military leader after the pattern of captain Moroni.
