We went to the temple this morning with Savannah for her twelfth birthday. She’s been looking forward for a long time to going to the temple and I think she came away underwhelmed. The activities in the temple, especially baptisms for the dead are fairly pedestrian in form. I felt really good being able to use my priesthood not only to baptize Savannah but also for other young men and young women after her. I’m pretty sure Savannah came out wondering what she had been expecting from going to the temple.
