Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were bold when they were first brought to be prepared for the king’s house that they refused the king’s meat. Thereafter they were promoted above their fellows. Later all but Daniel were accused of revising to bow down to the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar. I figured that either Daniel was not in the province of Babylon at that time or else the accusers figured he was untouchable because her had previously interpreted the king’s dream. Either way, it was only his friends whee were cast into the fire and miraculously spared. Two kings later Daniel had a similar trial. As youth they were promoted because of the risks they took in striving to be faithful. Later they were accused and convicted because they continued faithful in spite of public opposition.
