A descendant of David and aimed by most in his day to be the father of Jesus Christ. I really wish that we knew more about the remarkable man who was entrusted with raising the Son of God. He would have taught the gospel in his home and modeled manly behavior to the savior of the world. I have no doubt that Heavenly Father would place His Son on the care of an exemplary man in order to best assure success in his critical mortal role. That assumption is reinforced by the things we do know of Joseph receiving revelation, choosing to take Mary for his wife even after she was viewed as disgraced, and needing the promptings to take his fledgling family to Egypt.
