Thomas

I noted before that Thomas was one who demonstrated that righteous manhood could go unheralded until it was derided for having cracked. At the time I thought that was all I would have to say about Thomas and his infamous doubting.

I think it is critical to note that righteous manhood is not defined by blind, unquestioning faith. It’s defining feature is personal understanding and buy in on the issues that such a priesthood man is following.

Thomas was “doubting” because he felt that he needed a stronger witness than he then had to act in his office as a special witness of Christ. It was not as much skepticism as it was a desire for a solid foundation to fill his specific and demanding office.
