The lives of Lehi and Nephi weren’t identical. Nephi was the chief judge for a period of time, he had charge of the sacred records, and if there was a single had of the church at that time it would be Nephi (we don’t actually know if Nephi was actually considered ahead of all others by the members of the church at that time). Because of these differences I was inclined to write separately about the two brothers but I realized that these were all superficial differences when evaluating manly priesthood examples. In all substantive ways Nephi and Lehi were equals. They both have their lives to preaching the word of God. Together they converted thousands of Lamanites resulting in the Nephites being given the lands of their inheritance peacefully. Together they went north to preach until they were rejected by the people of that country. We are told directly that Lehi want one whit behind Nephi in righteousness.
