By the time Lachoneus and Gidgiddoni were conquering the existential threat that their people faced there were no longer two distinct bloodlines separating the Nephite and the Lamanite nations. The people had been switching nations either in small groups or large migrations. Those who were inclined to be very wicked among the Nephites would kind the Lamanites and those who were inclined to be righteous among the Lamanites found on a few occasions that they couldn’t remain among the Lamanites. The wicked Nephites would expel themselves and the righteous Lamanites would find themselves expelled.
In the days of these two men all the Nephites and Lamanites joined into one nation called the Nephites to fight against the Gadianton robbers. Such a that could only be faced successfully by priesthood men. When it was all over, the survivors of the Gadiantons became known as Lamanites.
