When contemplating Mormon it isn’t possible to be anything but constantly amazed at what he went through. By age ten he was singled out to keep the sacred records. By age sixteen he was so righteous that he saw the Savior. Throughout his life he saw so much wickedness that he knew his people were always on the verge of destruction. Despite a lifetime of commanding armies in war he managed to raise a righteous soon amidst gross wickedness and had to give his son charge of the sacred records while knowing that Moroni was even more alone than he had been.
Mormon yearned desperately that his people would repent and even hoped in vain at times that it might happen but he was simply a righteous pillar among one of the most depraved nations of all time.
