There are many men in the book of Ether who I can’t be sure whether they qualify as righteous. Kib and Shule represent two distinct classes of these men.
With Kib we have no indication as to his righteousness or the righteousness of his people. We know his father was righteous and one of his sons rebelled and brought him into captivity. On the other hand, one of his sons ruled righteously afterwards.
With Shule we are told that he rules in righteousness but we are also told that he drew people away after him in anger to fight against his brother.
Neither of these stories is unique within the record of Ether. I feel more confident that Shule would count as righteous than I do about Kib.
