Orson Pratt

Orson Pratt wasn’t quite as prominent as his older brother, Parley (he was perhaps Parley’s first convert), but that might simply be due to his name not being alternative and thus less memorable as well as a brief stint of disaffection. He was faithful throughout his life despite enduring the trials of all the early years of the church except for about a year when he was excommunicated for objections related to plural marriage. He was one of the original twelve apostles but he lost seniority because of his period of excommunication even though he was reinstated to the work after his return to membership. In fact, Orson was the last surviving member of the original quorum of the twelve.
